About Armchair.ie
The concept of the directory is very simple.
If you are living in Ireland and want to buy something online you need to know where to go to buy it.
While there maybe thousands of websites that sell books, for example, not all of them will ship to Ireland or cater for the Irish shopper.
We have organised the directory into different categories so that you can find shopping sites that meet your needs. Whether you are looking for music, dvds or a digital camera we have a category dedicated to your shopping needs!
Armchair.ie will only list sites that meet our listing criteria ie. they must actively sell to Ireland.
While we prefer to list Irish owned businesses we also list many international sites that have a strong presence in the Irish market.
Unlike a search engine Armchair.ie is a human edited directory ie. we manually review each and every site that is submitted.
Reviews and Ratings
You may post a review or rating of any website and help other shoppers to make an informed decision.
Please bear in mind that we will review all comments before publishing them.
Listing Criteria
In order for a site to be listed it must sell online directly.
If you cannot buy directly from the website it will not be listed.
We review all site submissions manually and any site that we feel does not meet our criteria will not be accepted.
If the site sells online the credit card page must be secured using an SSL certificate ie. the padlock must appear in your browser.
Tangible contact details have to be easily located on the website (we do make some exceptions to this for sites like Amazon)
We will attempt to conduct a transaction on all submitted shopping sites.
